½ tsp salt
1 cup buttermilk (or milk + 1 tbsp vinegar)
½ cup vegetable oil

1 tsp vanilla extract
½ cup hot water or hot coffee (for extra richness)
For the Chocolate Glaze

½ cup heavy cream
1 tbsp butter (optional for shine)
👩🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Make the Loaf
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a loaf pan.
- In a bowl, whisk flour, cocoa, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- Add buttermilk, oil, eggs, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
- Add hot water (or coffee) and mix gently — batter will be thin, that’s good!
- Pour into the loaf pan and bake 45–55 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool completely before glazing.
2️⃣ Make the Glaze
- Heat cream until warm (not boiling).
- Pour over chocolate and let sit for 1 minute.
- Stir until silky and smooth.
- Spread over the cooled loaf and let it set.
❤️ Serve & Enjoy!
