Incredible Gooey Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars

Soft, thick, and irresistibly gooey — these chocolate chip cookie bars taste just like the best classic cookies but even better! They’re buttery, chewy in the center, crisp on the edges, and loaded with melted chocolate in every bite. Perfect for parties, holidays, or whenever you’re craving a warm, chocolatey treat without having to scoop individual cookies.

Ingredients

1 cup (225 g) unsalted butter, melted

1 cup (200 g) brown sugar

½ cup (100 g) granulated sugar

2 large eggs

2 tsp vanilla extract

2 ¼ cups (280 g) all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking soda

½ tsp baking powder

½ tsp salt

2 cups (350 g) chocolate chips (or chopped chocolate)

👨‍🍳 Directions

  1. Prepare the pan
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch (23×33 cm) baking pan with parchment paper and lightly grease it.
  2. Mix the wet ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla extract, then whisk again until fully combined.
  3. Add dry ingredients
In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until a soft dough forms — do not overmix.
  4. Add chocolate chips
Fold in most of the chocolate chips, reserving a small handful for topping.
  5. Transfer to the pan
Spread the dough evenly into the prepared baking pan. Sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips on top.
  6. Bake
Bake for 22–28 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown but the center still looks slightly soft — that’s what makes them gooey!
  7. Cool and slice
Allow to cool in the pan for at least 15 minutes before cutting into bars.

Enjoy
