Strawberry Pretzel Salad

A classic American dessert that combines a salty pretzel crust, a creamy cheesecake-like filling, and a refreshing strawberry gelatin topping. Sweet, salty, creamy, and fruity — this dish is perfect for parties and family gatherings!

Ingredients

For the Pretzel Crust

2 cups crushed pretzels

¾ cup unsalted butter, melted

3 tbsp granulated sugar

For the Cream Cheese Layer

1 package (8 oz / 225g) cream cheese, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

1 container (8 oz / 225g) whipped topping (Cool Whip)

For the Strawberry Layer

2 cups boiling water

1 large package (6 oz / 170g) strawberry gelatin (JELL-O)

2 cups sliced fresh strawberries

Method – How to Make It

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Make the crust:

In a bowl, mix crushed pretzels, melted butter, and sugar.

Press firmly into the bottom of a 9×13 baking dish.

Bake for 10 minutes, then let cool completely.

  1. Prepare the cream layer:

Beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth and creamy.

Fold in the whipped topping gently.

Spread this mixture evenly over the cooled pretzel crust.

Important: Make sure the cream layer touches the edges of the dish — this prevents the gelatin from leaking into the crust.

  1. Make the strawberry layer:

In a bowl, dissolve strawberry gelatin in 2 cups of boiling water.

Stir in sliced fresh strawberries.

Let cool until the mixture begins to slightly thicken (not liquid, not fully set).

  1. Assemble the dessert:

Pour the gelatin mixture gently over the cream layer.

Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until completely set.

  1. Serve:

Slice into squares and enjoy chilled!

Enjoy
