
This quick and satisfying lo mein features juicy strips of beef tossed with chewy noodles, bell peppers, scallions, and onions in a rich garlic-soy sauce. Itβs a perfect one-pan dinner you can whip up in under 30 minutes.

For the beef:
250g (Β½ lb) flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp cornstarch
1 tsp sesame oil
For the lo mein:
200g (7 oz) lo mein or egg noodles
1 tbsp vegetable oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
Β½ onion, sliced
1 red bell pepper, sliced
1 green bell pepper, sliced
1 cup green onions, cut into 2-inch pieces
For the sauce:
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp hoisin sauce
Β½ tsp sugar
2β3 tbsp water

Marinate the beef with soy sauce, cornstarch, and sesame oil. Let sit for 10 minutes.
Cook noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
In a hot pan or wok, add oil and sear beef until browned. Remove and set aside.
SautΓ© garlic and onions for 1 min, then add bell peppers and green onions. Stir-fry for 2β3 mins.
Add noodles and beef back to the pan. Pour in sauce mixture and toss everything together until heated and coated.
Serve hot, optionally garnished with sesame seeds or chili flakes.
