How to prepare Garlic Herb Steak with Cheesy Broccoli & Loaded Mashed Potatoes

This plate features a juicy pan-seared steak topped with garlic herb butter, creamy mashed potatoes sprinkled with cheese (no bacon), and cheesy broccoli for the perfect cozy meal.

Ingredients


For the Steak

1 ribeye or sirloin steak

1 tbsp olive oil

Salt & black pepper

1 tbsp butter

1/2 tsp garlic powder

Garlic Herb Butter

1 tbsp softened butter

1/4 tsp garlic powder

Pinch of parsley

For the Mashed Potatoes

2 medium potatoes, peeled & cubed

2 tbsp butter

1/4 cup milk or cream

Salt & pepper

1/4 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or blend)

Optional: parsley for topping

For the Cheesy Broccoli

1 1/2 cups broccoli florets

1 tbsp butter

1/4 cup shredded cheese

Salt & pepper

Directions

  1. Make the Mashed Potatoes

Boil potatoes until tender.

Mash with butter, milk, salt, and pepper.

Stir in a handful of shredded cheese.

Top with a little extra cheese & parsley (no bacon).

  1. Make the Cheesy Broccoli

Steam or sauté broccoli until tender.

Toss with butter, then sprinkle cheese on top until melted.

Season lightly.

  1. Cook the Steak

Pat steak dry and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.

Sear in hot oil 3–4 minutes per side.

Add butter at the end and baste.

Top with garlic herb butter while resting.

  1. Serve
